week ending 22/1/16

Date: 22nd Jan 2016 @ 1:59pm

Another busy week finding out about space! This week we have practised writing letters and making patterns in moon dust - it has been a bit messy, but lots of fun! We have continued to paint our pants - they are all on the back wall. Reception have made up their own aliens and written great sentences about them. Mrs Entwistle introduced the children to Beegu on Wednesday & there are some super Beegus in Treetops. We have also learnt how to marble paper and discovered that it looks like a space sky. We have spent time listening to Mars and Venus from The Planet Suite by Holst. We have talked about how the music makes us feel. Someone observed that it sounded like Darth Vader's music, so we have listened to it and talked a little bit about Star Wars.

Just a quick reminder about our Gruffalo reading challenge. Well done to everyone who has taken part so far - it's great to have so many enthusiastic readers. Once we have a number of children who have achieved to Gruffalo award we plan to have a special ceremony in church - we are really looking forward to it!
