Duddon St. Peter's School is a small primary school, nestling in the Cheshire countryside. We have a happy and caring environment where children are given a warm welcome. Our hope is that each child in the school will have an opportunity to achieve their full potential.  Our school is fully committed to providing a safe environment for all children to learn in and safeguarding is a high priority.

What Our Parents Say

"Duddon St Peter's is a special, warm place and has created a sense of belonging for my children.  All the staff are approachable and truly care about the development of the children, whether it be academically or pastorally.  The expectations are high and they have created an environment that encourages the children to 'be the best they can be' in every way.  The school holds a special place in my children's hearts."  Helen Nicholas Year 6 Parent

"Both my children love Duddon School.  There is a passion for learning, in an enjoyable and friendly environment.  The staff are engaging and supportive, they clearly care about and understand their students nurturing and inspiring them every day."  Rachel Evans Year 5 parent

“Treetops is wonderful! Our son has grown in confidence since attending. He is really happy and has made plenty of good friends; he loves telling us about his day. The small rural setting means everyone gets lots of one-to-one attention, and it shows. The outdoor facilities are excellent and there are always lots of activities going on; he has fun while learning. Parents are updated with photos and get to know staff well, they do an amazing job. It was definitely the right choice for us. Thank you to all of the team.” Dawn Wood Nursery parent

"As a parent, I'm continually impressed by the nurturing environment in Treetops, at Duddon St Peter’s Primary School, where my child's curiosity is encouraged, their creativity is sparked, and they're surrounded by supportive friendships that enhance their learning journey." Chris Arthur Reception parent

"My children are extremely happy at Duddon St Peter's, having both attended from the age of 3 in the preschool setting.  We are so pleased that they are able to enjoy their education in such a nurturing, supportive and inclusive school. The class sizes are small enough to afford the staff the ability to get to know the children extremely well and also tailor learning where it is needed. The staff are engaging, approachable and friendly, they care deeply about the school and the children that they teach. My children really do have a wonderful time at school and have a real passion for learning in such a friendly and fun environment. They are both thriving. We would highly recommend the school to prospective parents." Becky Butcher Nursery & Year 2 parent

The school was founded in 1875 by the Church of England. We value the long tradition of providing education here and work from a Christian base which is reflected in all that we do. Close ties exist between the school, St. Peter's Church and the local community. Our aim is to create an environment where children quickly settle and achieve their best in all that they do. Treetops is a Foundation Stage Unit, based at Duddon St. Peter's and takes pre-school children from the age of three, alongside our Reception class.

'Be the best you can be.'
