Our theologiacally rooted Christian vision is reflected throughout our school environment and community. Our teaching recognises the importance of the Christian values: generosity, compassion, courage, forgiveness, friendship, respect, thankfulness, trust, perseverance, justice, service and truthfulness. These values are an intrinsic part of our curricululm and community and are lived out in the day to day life of our school.
The school was founded in 1875 by the Church of England. Close ties exist between the school, St. Peter's Church and the local community. Our aim is to create an environment where children quickly settle and achieve their best in all that they do. As a small primary school, we have a happy, caring environment where each individual child is encouraged to be the best they can be and achieve their full potential.
Our school based Nursery takes children from the term after their third birthday. The children work alongside our Reception children in specialist Early Years provision.
Treetots is our toddler group which runs on a weekly basis in St Peter's church.
Our school is fully committed to providing a safe environment for all children to learn in and safeguarding is a high priority.
After a full consultation with all our stakeholders, the decision was taken to officially form a federation with Barrow CE Primary school from 1st September 2025. A new Governing Board has been appointed. We look forward to all the new and exciting opportunities that the federation of the schools will bring.
