Mrs Kinsey

Miss Pickering

The children in Class one have had some special visitors today- it was very exciting for everyone especially the puppies!

The children have learnt about odd and even numbers this week and money. Year 1 have recognised different coins and begun to add 2 or 3 together. Year 2 have been learning how to make different amounts using coins.

All children in Class One have been learning a special song for Harvest (Thursday 14th October) We hope you can come along and see us perform.

After half term we will be looking at subtraction. Dont forget to book in your parents evening slot.

The children in Class One have focused hard this week on using thier phonics when writing and have created some lovely art work with Mrs Kinsey.

Another exciting week in Class One... we have been looking at place value and ways to make 10 and 20.

We have wrote our own stories about Supertato and Evil Pea. As well as making vomiting pumpkins in Year 2 Science.

I am really proud of the way all children have settled in Class One... We have been busy learning about numbers to 20 and 100 and making them in different ways. As well as making wanted posters for the evil peas! Remember if you see any on your plate, you must do your bit and eat them all up to get rid of them!

An exciting week in Class One...

The evil peas have caused lots of trouble around the school.  We made an apple army to defeat evil Pea.

The children have been working on place value and teen numbers. A huge well done to them all for settling so well.

I hope you have all had a lovely summer! For the first week I will be on the door to greet any parents and meet the new Year 1 Children.

Our topic will be superheros!

The newsletter is now on the class page.

Welcome back!

I hope you have all had a lovely break. This half term our topic will be castles. We will be looking at castles in general as well as in the local area. Hopefully (if we are allowed) we will be able to visit a castle on a school outing!

Welcome back to a new half term!

Well done for all your hard work last half term and I cant wait to see you all again after the 8th March!

This half term we will be looking at Space and poetry, as well as a new text in Literacy.

In Maths we will continue to work on number bonds, addition, subtraction and measurements.

Its starting to look like like springtime so we will be investigating new plants, flowers and seasonal changes.

Please let me know if you didn't receive your postcards, you all were sent one!

x keep going with all your amazing work and effort!

Happy New Year everyone!

Its a different start to the year than expected but we must ensure everyone stays safe. It was rather late when the Prime Minister decided to inform of this so please allow me some time to add work on to google classroom for you. If there are any problems you all have my email address. I understand using Google Classroom isint always easy so just try to do little and often as much as you can.

There will be a box outside of the school front door with a Literacy book and a Maths book if you wish to record in these. It might be easier than working on the laptop and you could post a picture of it on Google Classroom or write a comment to say how you got on with it.

I will be prioritising Maths, Literacy and Phonics, whilst carrying on with our topic work on Toys in the past. Please continue to read as much as you can as the progress made was amazing and Id like to carry on where we left off as soon as we are back in school.

Hopefully you should of all recieved a personalised message from me by the end of the day with any extra hints/tips/work but please understand I have 4 children at home with me, one of which has no unnderstanding of whats going on- so I wish us all the best of luck. x

Mel Pickering

Week beg 14th December

The children have all been amazing in the Christmas play, we are super proud of all of them!

On Wednesday 18th November Class One will be having a fundraiser! We will be selling our glass light jars that each child has made. The children have worked very hard on them and are really proud of them. Please help us to raise funds for Class One as our wish list is getting longer and longer. Every child will be able to take their jar home for a donation of £4 each. (please bring the correct amount as we are unable to give change) There will be a stall outside Class One on Wed after school.

Friday 6th November

The children have been busy learning about subtraction this week, using a number line.

We have enjoyed looking at everyone's favourite toys on Google Classroom, please continue to add any toys you love or your grandparents had so we can compare.

Many thanks

Thank you for all your hard work and support in making sure the children come to school and are ready to learn. After half term we will be learning about toys.
