Class 4 Governor Visit

Date: 14th Nov 2017 @ 9:45pm

Today, as Class 4 Governor I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Class 4. Having joined them in their collective worship in Church with Rev Adam Friend, I then spent the remainder of my time in the classroom. First Maths and then Literacy. Being able to contribute to Literacy and talk about my favourite poem ("High Flight" by John Gillespie Magee Jr) was a privilege and hopefully the children saw something of the passion of flight coupled with the horrors of war. I am looking forward to reading and hearing their own poetry on this theme next week. It seemed particularly poignant too with Remembrance Day only being last weekend.

Being a class governor is invaluable. We sit in countless governors meetings making decisions about the direction of the school yet it would be so easy to feel detached from the reality of what we are seeking to achieve. It makes it so real and relevant seeing the vibrancy of learning and a full school of happy children. It’s a real privilege.
