Class Four - 10th October

Date: 10th Oct 2020 @ 8:33pm

The weeks are flying by towards half-term, but we have been busy this week getting on with our Egyptian topic - our Egyptian gods artwork is nearing completion and some are already displayed in the classroom.  It is such a pity that our parents cannot be in school to see the work going on, as we continue to display the children's work, even though there are no parents to see it.

They are also drawing Egyptian designs onto sheets of papyrus - a topic which has been linked to this week's homework. Our 'mummy' is developing well, although not quite finished, and we are thinking about designs to decorate the sarcophagus.

For National Postcard Week, they designed postcards from Egypt using their IT skills, then wrote their postcards home.  These are forming part of a whole school display, as all the children have written postcards across the school, linked with their Literacy or Topic work.

In Science, children conducted investigations into light and how shadows are created, and how the size of shadows changes according to how near to the light source the object is.

Many of the children are now turning in their homework using Google Classroom, and they are becoming very efficient at it.  Remember - lessons and work are added to it each week, so that anyone who is not in school can continue to keep up with the class.
