Class Four - ceramic fish

Date: 18th Jun 2021 @ 8:36pm

Over the past couple of weeks the children have been completing some clay work, which has turned out so well. Their challenge was to design and make a fish out of clay, linking our Art to our topic this term. Using slab work techniques, they rolled the clay and then impressed details or added clay to make scales, fins etc.

After firing the clay in the kiln, they then added coloured glazes and the fish were returned to the kiln for a second firing. (We only had two disasters - only two fish 'exploded' in the kiln and had to be remade!)

We think they are fantastic!  These are only a few examples of their work.
