Class Four - week ending 12th November

Date: 12th Nov 2021 @ 7:31pm

We had an interesting time in science this week, investigating the types of beaks which birds have to enable them to pick up seeds and other food.  This was linked to our work on adaptation and the research by Charles Darwin when he observed the different types of finches on the Galapagos Islands.  We used tweezers, straws, cocktail sticks and spatulas to try and pick up breadcrumbs, rice, niger seeds, peanuts and macaroni.  The results were interesting!

We have also been getting our DT project going, investigating flowers and beginning to design our own, ready to consider how to make them. Today, we also began to practise some Christmas songs for our performance.
