Treetops week ending 20.1.23

Date: 20th Jan 2023 @ 1:39pm

This week we celebrated Chinese New Year with Amelia's mummy Xu. She told us all about the story of Nien the monster how New Year is celebrated in China. We had a go with chopsticks and made red Chinese lanterns to scare Nien away. Xu brought everyone a special New Year envelope with a little present in it - thank you!
We have started to work on our measuring weight with scales. We focussed on heavy, light and balance. We started to use non standard units to measure weight - we'll carry this on next week.
We read our No Ousiders book 'Mommy, Mama and Me' and talked about things we like doing with our families. We drew some lovely pictures!
We have found out a little bit about sheep this week and made some lovely sheep pictures - we used our motor skills to make some curly wool.
