Week ending 17.5.24

This week we have worked on shapes and recognising shapes in different positions. We have explored manipulating shapes to make patterns and pictures.

We have read Mr Gumpy's Motor Car. We made Mr Gumpy's car outside and had fun playing on it and going on adventures. We also did a lot of counting and number bonds work while seeing how many passengers were in the car. 
We have investigated ramps and tested them to see which surfaces made the cars go fast or slow. We also went outside and made ramps outside. The ramps outside were different heights so we talked about how steep they were. We used lots of scientific and mathematical language.

After we read Mr Gumpy, we also found out about what old cars looked like and compared them to our cars. There were lots of differences including not having any seatbelts which we decidedly wasn't very safe at all.
