A typical day in Reception

What your child will be doing day to day:

9.00-9.30am   Register followed by  focused teaching time
9.30-11.10am    Child initiated activities and focused small group teaching, with differentiated groups both indoors and outdoors.

10.15-10.45am      Snack - in the morning, children are provided with a mid-session snack of fresh fruit, milk or water. They are encouraged to access snack independently and quickly learn the routine.

11.10-11.30am    Tidy up time and review session.

11.30-11.45am    Phonics

11.45-13.00pm      LUNCHTIME

13.00-13.30pm      Register and focused teaching.

13.30-15.00pm      Child initiated activities and focused teaching.

14.30-14.45pm      Snack - Reception children make  toast and have milk or water to drink. The children  sit and eat together, this provides a lovely opportunity for speaking and listening activities.

15.00-15.30pm      Tidy up and Story Time.
