September 2023 - Welcome back

I hope that you are having a lovely summer break and are enjoying lots of lovely family time together. Just before the term starts I just wanted to share some house keeping information with you.

We will continue to meet you and your children at the gate at the bottom of the ramp in the morning and at hometime. The children have become so independent since we started doing this and we would really like to carry on. They hang their own coats up, wash their hands and just start the day in such a confident and self assured way we are really proud on them! Obviously you are always welcome to come up the ramp with your children and give them a hand if they need it. The new starters are welcome to come up the ramp with you - we are happy to work with you to make their start with us as seamless as possible.
In terms of uniform Nursery and Reception are the same - red jumper or cardigan, white or red polo shirt and grey skirt/trousers. You can buy uniform jumpers with the cross keys on through the school  website or just buy 'cheap and cheerful'. Please make sure that the children's jumpers are named, we have quite a collection of red jumpers and cardigans!
On a Friday morning we will continue to do PE. Please send your child to school in shorts/joggers and trainers with top half uniform. Many thanks.
We will start Forest School on a Thursday afternoon from the end of September - I will let you know when we will start. On a Thursday please send your child in top half uniform with joggers/leggings  and a suitable coat. We have waterproof trousers in school.
We do have a number of pairs of wellies in school, but would appreciate it if your child had their own named wellies in school - we sometimes need them in the garden during the day and will definitely need them on a Thursday for Forest School.
I will put our planning on the website at the start of each term and I do a weekly blog on a Friday to let you know the types of things we have been doing at school - please have a look on the Nursery and Reception pages of the website.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in September!
