Week ending 20.9.19

Date: 19th Sep 2019 @ 4:53pm

We have worked really hard on our fine motor skills this week - to make our hands and fingers really strong and dexterous. We played a game with the dinosaurs where we had to wrap them up in paper scarves and them release them with the scissors. Cutting the paper was the easy bit, the tricky part was wrapping the paper round the dinosaurs again!

We have worked hard counting and recognising our numbers. We had to thread the right number of pasta pieces onto a pipe cleaner after we said the number.  We also used the tweezers to pick up and count pom poms. That was tricky too!

This week has also been a busy week as we have continued our phonics. Nursery have listened  to stories and joined in with rhymes. Reception have worked on i n m d. We have used sound buttons and punched and squished the sounds into words like is, sat, it. We are learning the skills we will need when we get our reading books.

We have read the Rainbow Fish and talked about sharing and how important our friends are.
