Week ending 26.10.18

Date: 25th Oct 2018 @ 9:13pm

This week we have been busy learning about Harvest. We made the Harvest Loaf together and also made some hedgehogs. This morning we went to the Harvest service in church and presented our loaf and hedgehogs.

We have all worked hard on our phonics and Reception have practiced their letter formation, trying hard to remember all the sounds we have covered this half term. We have also done lots of counting ‘how many altogether’ and Reception have focussed on writing their numbers.

We decided to turn our pumpkin into a fairy house. We looked on the internet to get lots of ideas for what we wanted our house to look like and then spent time in small groups finding sticks, leaves and moss from outside to stick to the pumpkins. Everyone drew their own pumpkin house and decided what it would look like. We had some amazing ideas like  glittery roofs, ladders, chimneys and roofs made out of pine cones! When we went to the woods this afternoon everyone made their own fairy houses using sticks, leaves and other natural objects. We had a lot of fun! We also left our fairy pumpkin house in the woods - we wondered who might move in!

Have a lovely half term everyone 😊
